Immediately after the Lunar New Year 2024, on the morning of February 18 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), 95 vehicles carried the first 925 tons of goods, which were fresh seafood, frozen seafood, and fruits such as Jackfruit, Dragon fruit was exported and cleared customs again smoothly and quickly through the Km3+4 Hai Yen Bridge opening to the Chinese market.
According to the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday schedule, authorities at the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dong Hung (China) International Border Gate temporarily stopped customs clearance procedures for goods from February 10 to the end of February 17 (from the 1st to the 8th day of the first lunar month). However, after discussion and agreement between the authorities of both sides, the Chinese side allowed customs clearance for imported goods from February 12 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year), mainly fresh seafoods from Vietnam.
95 vehicles with 925 tons of goods worth 3.7 million USD went through export procedures on the first day of import and export customs clearance activities at the Km3+4 Hai Yen bridge opening after the Lunar New Year holidays is a good sign signaling in import and export activities right from the first days of the new year for economic development in 2024.
In Lang Son province, information from the Management Board of Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zones, on the morning of February 18, all 7 border gates in Lang Son province were working as normal after 1 week of temporary suspension or restriction of customs clearance of import and export goods. Border gates include: Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang International Border Gate (Cao Loc district), Chi Ma Border Gate (Loc Binh district), Tan Thanh Border Gate, Coc Nam Border Gate, Na Hinh Border Gate (Van Lang district) and Na Nua Border Gate (Trang Dinh district).
Previously, the relevant authorities on the Chinese side announced the temporary suspension of customs clearance procedures for goods at border gates in Lang Son and Quang Ninh provinces, from February 10 to February 13 (from the 1st to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year. After that, customs clearance will resume from February 14 to 17 with goods vehicles and documents registered for import and export before Tet. From February 18, the customs office returned to work as usual.
At the border gates between Vietnam and China, container trucks and trailers are gathered in large numbers to transport goods during the year and receive new orders. The need to import goods for a new year has also begun, so the trade and transportation situation between the two countries has also become busier.
